Biography
Andie Desiderio is a artist and illustrator from New York with over a decade of experience in illustration, gallery art, and publishing. Her work is rooted in a deep reverence for the natural world, exploring the unseen connections between humans and nature and the belief everything is connected. She has a BFA from Long Island University, studied animation at NYU, and has continuously pursued artistic growth.
She began her career working at the Society of Illustrators assisting in the museum, curation, and archiving under director Terry Brown. She then worked in publishing for many years at Hearst Magazines working with many well known brands and personalities. While also illustrating children’s books, ads, editorial, trading cards, and comics. She has worked for clients such as Amazon, Man of Action, and Topps. She pursued work in animation. Although never landing studio work, the intense study of animation styles, concept art, and cinematic storytelling became a huge influence on her work.
Andie’s surreal botanical oil paintings have shown in galleries in New York city, Long Island, and California. She has co-curated group shows featured at Atlantic Gallery in Chelsea NYC. She has been featured in magazines such as Art Talk and Shoutout LA. She is the founder and owner of Fern & Thistle Paperie, which provides her art and designs on everyday products. Fern & Thistle is based on Andie's belief that art should be accessible to everyone.
