Art Value Lab is an interdisciplinary art platform exploring how art is understood, circulated, experienced, and valued.

A question, across contexts.
Art Value Lab was founded by Celine Huang（黃茹婕）.
The platform grew out of her international art research and fieldwork developed through a youth overseas initiative supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
Through extended periods of study and research across London, New York, and other European art contexts, she encountered different parts of the art ecosystem — from museums, commercial galleries, auction houses, and art fairs to educational institutions, artist communities, and interdisciplinary creative spaces.
Her experiences across art history, curating, museum studies, the art market, auctions, collecting, technology, and digital culture gradually converged around one central question:
How do we decide what makes art valuable?
Art Value Lab emerged from that question. Rather than seeking a single answer, the platform exists as an ongoing space for research, documentation, experimentation, and conversation.
Value takes shape
between things.
An artwork may begin in an artist’s studio, but its meaning continues to evolve as it moves through galleries, museums, art fairs, auctions, collections, institutions, and communities.
Along the way, it is seen, interpreted, discussed, exchanged, documented, and continuously assigned new forms of value.

Rather than simply asking what art is, we are interested in how art enters society, how artistic value is constructed, and why certain works, ideas, and practices come to matter.
Through accessible art education, long-form storytelling, artist conversations, auction knowledge, emerging artist features, and a growing generative art archive, Art Value Lab connects different parts of the contemporary art ecosystem within one evolving platform.
Our goal is to make the structures surrounding art more visible, understandable, and accessible — while creating new ways for audiences to encounter art on their own terms.

Celine Huang
TECHNOLOGY / EXPERIENCE
Celine Huang is currently studying Radio and Television at National Chengchi University, alongside interdisciplinary studies spanning digital content, psychology, and information technology.
Her practice moves across moving image, interactive media, digital art, cultural research, and the art market, with a long-term interest in the relationships between art, memory, value, technology, and emotional experience.
Her international research has expanded into curating, arts management, museum studies, auctions, and the wider art economy.
Through visits to museums, galleries, art fairs, auction houses, artist studios, and cultural institutions, she became increasingly interested in the invisible systems that shape how artworks are presented, understood, circulated, and valued.
Art Value Lab is an extension of that interdisciplinary journey — and an ongoing experiment in how art knowledge can be researched, translated, and shared.
