Biography
Cornelia Parker is a British artist born in Cheshire in 1956. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, drawing, photography and film. Through processes such as crushing, burning and suspension, she transforms ordinary objects into encounters with fragility, material change and forces beyond our control.
Her installations include Cold Dark Matter: An Exploded View, Thirty Pieces of Silver and Heart of Darkness. Fragments and altered objects invite viewers to reconsider the histories and associations carried by familiar things.
