Danielle Warren

Biography

Danielle Warren is a painter, designer, and art educator. She was born into an artistic family. Her grandfather was a professional painter in Marseille, France. Her house was always filled with art and music. Her artistic background leads her to go live and study in Paris. She studied art at the Ecole Superieure de Beaux Art de Paris under the direction of Michel Gemignami, a well-known contemporary painter in France. www.michelgemignami.fr  

She continued her studies at the Ecole Superieure de la Mode, ESMOD to become a fashion designer. Her career in fashion started by creating hand-painted textile designs and sketches for various design houses in Paris. She extended her career to become a trend forecaster gathering new fashion trends in Europe with Carlin International. In New York, she learned gestural painting from Frank O’Cain a well-known American painter at the Art Students League. www.franko’cain.com She spent 14 years as an assistant professor of Art and Design at Parsons New School of Design in New York and in Paris. She currently, teaches art to children at The Ecole, International School of New York.

Furthermore, she sells her work through social media and her website. The artists that influence her work are contemporary artists like; Paul Cezanne, Willem de Koenig, Richard Diebenkorn, and Joan Mitchel who gave lectures at the school she attended in Paris.

Artist statement

As an abstract artist, I create works that explore the emotional impact of color in nature and visual imagery. For years, I have been committed to understanding how colors interact and influence one another, a fascination that has shaped my creative journey. My background as a color forecaster and color theory professor deepened this passion allowing me to uncover the profound power of color through research and experimentation. 

All of my color harmonies tell a story — each one is an emotional character drawn from my life. The way the colors interact reflects the relationships, moods, that shape my experiences. Together, they create an ambience that feels both personal and alive, a visual language of feeling and connection.A deliberate process that lets me craft sensory harmonies within my work.This practice invites freedom and spontaneity as I experiment with organic shapes and layers of paint textures. The canvas becomes a kind of laboratory—a space for movement, play, and discovery. I avoid planning too far ahead, allowing the work to unfold naturally, guided by a dialogue within.

As a painter, designer, and educator, I love how art brings people together—it’s this wonderful mix of curiosity, emotion, and connection. Abstraction is my playground for exploring how we see and feel the world, turning perception into color and energy.
