Biography
Elaine Forrest is from New York City, Charleston, S.C., and Venice, California.
She has been living in New York's Financial District for the past 20 years.
She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Boston University and studied Medical Illustration at Harvard Medical School.
While residing in Los Angeles Elaine was an active member of the Art Rental and Corporate Division of the Los Angeles Museum of Fine Art, The Venice Family Clinic, and the execution of commissioned portraits.
Residing in New York she is a member of the NoHoM55 Gallery in Chelsea and a member of the New York Artists Circle.
Her work is in many public and private collections.
Artist statement
Having lived in Southern California for many years I bring to my work the bright light and luminous colors of the California sun.
I am a multimedia artist working in a variety of media to define a figurative idiom. My work focuses on the here and now of consumer goods, portraits of friends, family, and acquaintances.
In my unique style, I paint a colorful story of popular culture and aspects of the world around us.
