Practice & background
Working in Brooklyn, Tucker Eason draws on a Colorado childhood and an enduring interest in the American West. Memory, masculinity, identity and transformation recur in his paintings.
Collected images are layered, painted over and revised. Flowers, vintage objects and popular-culture fragments unsettle the divisions between figure and landscape. Collage becomes a way to think about how personal and cultural histories are assembled.
Exhibitions include Signs of Use at RAM Gallery (2025), The Valley at Julie Zener Gallery (2022) and Masquerade at On Center Gallery (2022). His portfolio moves between portraits, objects and abstraction.
Looking at the work
Found images, painted marks and revisions accumulate so recognizable objects share a surface with abstract color.
