About the work
Steel 12" x 30" x 15" This accordion book is about Mali in West Africa. Its title says "thank you" in the three languages I use when I am in Mali. Bamanankan is one of the major Malian national languages. In addition, I speak English and French, the European colonial language that is widely spoken at least in the cities. One of the formal challenges of the books is to have distinct and powerful pages which the viewer can see thru to "read" the following pages
