About the work

Monarch Pause was inspired by the oak leaf hydrangeas and wildflowers I saw in Greenport, NY, over the summer. Monarch butterflies rested there on their journey south, pausing among the tangles. The garden was a little unruly—alive with color and motion—a reminder that wildflowers thrive wherever they find a place to grow.
