About the work

Archival pigment print 11" x 17", $400 (Limited Edition of 25) "Pollinators" depicts industrious worker bees brought to a cranberry bog during bloom season to ensure fruit production. My creative process merges photography with drawing, overlaying drawings onto my photographs. Initially, this drawing was intended to be part of an image capturing my walk performance in the bog during the cranberry harvest. However, as I became engrossed in adding drawings of cranberry fruits, the drawing began to overshadow the original photograph. After weeks of repeatedly creating and erasing elements without meaningful progress, I chose to preserve the minimal drawings within the photograph and fully develop a standalone version—ultimately becoming Pollinators.
