Family Tree: "Las Bedoyas"-Van Cura's private collection

This painting is made with acrylics, inks, and photo transfer. It is 6x6" on a wood panel. After visiting an old neighbor during the holidays, I was surprised at the number of people that were gathered there to celebrate. I was even more surprised to know they were all related. They were her kids, grandkids, in-laws, etc. I looked at her in awe, and she said "I am responsible for all these people in the world" Her name is Margarita Bedoya, and yes, "Las Bedoyas" last name had certainly had gotten bigger. This painting celebrates our ability to pass on our knowledge and genes to the next generations, and the importance to grow and cultivate our family trees
