Original: Gouache on watercolor paper. 24" x 24" Archival prints: 24" x 24", 12" x 12", 7.25" x 7.25" Look carefully to see the large five pointed star interpenetrating the passion flower blossom. The star is part of the ‘five’ matrix which is everywhere in the painting, filling the ‘empty’ space as much as it does ‘solid’ form. Five-ness is the source of the geometry of life, patterns of natural growth, spirals, the movement of water, the Fibonacci sequence, phi and the Golden Proportion.
