Welcome to Fragile City: Art and Architecture by Wasps, Birds and a Human

About the work

Working in a 19th century rural Massachusetts barn, I developed a multi-layered ephemeral installation paying tribute to the many layers of history of this former home to sheep and cows, and current use as organic garlic storage and processing space. In the process of working there, I realized I was a visitor to the fragile cities of architecture created by mud wasps and barn swallows. whose structures I highlighted by placing a small cheesecloth Fragile City building nearby, and by integrating into the title of this installation. 62 feet x 17 feet x 10 feet. 2014
